What do pina coladas, Lego and afternoon tea have in common? They have all been used to explain the unique structure of the Open degree on the OU’s online community platform, Student Hub Live.
Working with Student Hub Live and their online and interactive events, the Open Programme team have been able to support students to express the value of their learning on an Open qualification with varied sessions including a live debate on 'Generalist vs Specialist degrees'. This debate aimed to get to the bottom of the question, "which do employers prefer? Or has there always been a place for both generalist and specialist in the world of work?"
More recently the Open Programme and Student Hub Live have collaborated on remote broadcasts exploring key questions or tricky topics with sessions titled:
