Description
Tommy Quigley went to St Peter’s Secondary School in Belfast and left after doing the Junior Certificate. He was imprisoned at age sixteen in 1972 in Crumlin Road Gaol Armagh Gaol and Long Kesh (Compounds the Maze and Long Kesh prison) and released in 1975. From 1984 he was imprisoned in the Special Secure Units of Parkhurst and Full Sutton Prisons where he studied Social Sciences with The Open University from 1988 graduating in 1994. He was transferred to Maghaberry Prison in 1996 where he started studying for a PhD in Hindsight Bias with The Open University. Two years later he was transferred to the Republican wings of the H Blocks (th...e Maze and Long Kesh Prison). He was released in 1999 and at the time of interview in 2011 was Project Coordinator of Tar Isteach a Republican ex-Prisoners Support Group in North Belfast.
