Christopher Newman Hall was an English non-conformist clergyman known as the 'Dissenter's Bishop'. He was an abolitionist and supported other causes including Chartism. During the Civil War he visited America in support of Abraham Lincoln and the Union. He composed hymns and wrote several small evangelical style booklets, the most well known being 'Come to Jesus' published 1848.
