Description
Sean Wynne taught in the secondary education sector in the Midlands of Ireland studied for a Postgraduate qualification in Career Guidance at University College Dublin and worked as a Guidance Counsellor for County Laois Vocational Education Committee. In the mid-1980s he was invited to develop an education programme in Portlaoise Prison in County Laois which at the time had no organised education. He was appointed Supervising Teacher in Portlaoise in 1985 and worked in this role until 1995. Sean represented the Republic of Ireland Prison system on the Education Trust a cross border body set up to help ex-prisoners and their families’ ac...cess third level education or further training. He published ‘Education and Security-When the twain do meet’ in the Journal of Correctional Education (March 2001 Volume 52 Issue 1).
