Description
Pat Sheehan attended St Malachy’s College in Belfast where he gained O Levels. He was imprisoned aged nineteen in 1978 in the H Blocks (the Maze and Long Kesh Prison) and released in 1987. Pat was rearrested in 1989 and after two years in Crumlin Road Gaol went to the H Blocks where he became involved in education in 1991. He then completed GCSEs began studying Social Sciences and Philosophy with The Open University in 1992 and graduated with a first class honours degree in 1998. At time of interview in 2011 Pat was a Sinn Féin Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing West Belfast at the Northern Ireland Assembly.
