Description
Pamela Hazel was appointed in 1975 by the Northern Ireland Office as a teacher working in the Juvenile Remand Unit in Crumlin Road Gaol and then in the Young Offenders Centre Hydebank Wood. In 1984 she became Education Officer for Armagh Gaol where she also taught English Literature. In 1985 Armagh Gaol closed and the women’s prison moved to Maghaberry where Pamela continued as Education Officer. In the late 1980s she went to the Maze and Long Kesh Prison as Education Officer for the Compounds section. She later returned as Education Officer to both Maghaberry Male and Female Prisons before moving to be Education Officer in the Young Off...enders Centre Hydebank Wood.
