Description
Sean Murray is from West Belfast and was studying Social Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast in 1972 when he was interned. He completed his first year studies while in Long Kesh and was released in 1974. He was imprisoned in 1981 and studied Social Sciences with The Open University in the Republican Wings of the H Blocks (the Maze and Long Kesh Prison) from 1984-1986. Sean was responsible for developing the education system among Republican prisoners after the end of the Blanket Protest and Hunger Strikes. He was released in 1987 and at the time of interview in 2011 was on the Sinn Féin Political Directorate and working as Party Staf...f Support for Sinn Féin at the Assembly at Stormont.
