Helen Evans joined The Open University as an Associate Lecturer in 1993 having previously worked as a Probation and Welfare Officer in Dublin. She tutored on Health and Social Welfare courses as well as Social Science courses. She taught Social Policy in the H Blocks of the Maze and Long Kesh Prison and Magilligan Prison between 1998 and 2000. In 2002 she took up a position as Staff Tutor in the School of Health and Social Welfare at The Open University.
