Description
Eoghan MacCormaic attended St Columb’s College in Derry and left in 1971 before taking his O Levels. He attended Derry Technical College on day release from employment and gained a City and Guilds and Ordinary National Certificate in Engineering. He was imprisoned in the H Blocks (the Maze and Long Kesh Prison) in 1976 and after having been on the Blanket protest took O levels. He then studied Technology and Social Sciences with The Open University from 1984 to 1990 gaining an honours degree in Social Sciences. After his release in 1990 he gained a BSc in Celtic Studies from University College Galway. At the time of interview in 2011 he ...was a development worker with the Irish Language organisation Glór na nGael and was studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Translating and Editing in Irish.
