Description
Balby Street Junior School in a mining area in Yorkshire is the subject of both this radio programme and television programme four. The whole ethos of the old West Riding Education authority is the... subject of a special student activity at the conclusion of the first block of the Course. In this programme, Donald Holms, Senior BBC Radio Producer, Educational Studies, interviews pupils and teachers in Balby Street School. He provides an impressionistic analysis of the school centring on the creative work in music, art and movement, as an entre for students both to the television programme, the correspondence and activity work and to radio programme six which discusses the whole first block with special reference to Balby Street School and the West Riding of Yorkshire.
