Description
This is the sixth of sixteen radio progrannmes in the general interest series Arts Review 1988. Klaas van Berkel presents a talk entitled "William III and Holland after 1688" which outlin...es the difference in the way that William III ruled in England and the Netherlands. He contrasts the fact that in the Netherlands despite apparently being a 'servant' to the state, William III was able to exercise power and authority like a Monarch with the situation in England, where he was nominally a king but a king whose power was severely restricted by Parliament.
