Description
In this programme the recently published study "The School Effect" was featured. The authors, David Smith of the Policy Studies Institute, and Professor Sally Tomlinson of Lancaster Unive...rsity described the main findings of their research. The debate on how history should be taught in schools was discussed by Dr Sheila Lawlor from the Centre for Policy studies and Raphael Samuel, Tutor at Ruskin College Oxford. John Clare, the presenter gave a 'round up' on the various new reports which have been published on the National curriculum, and outlined the schedule for further reports in the future.
