Description
Now for the first in a new series on the history of technology - 'Generals of the Revolution'. Each week we'll be taking one of the pioneers of the 19th century and looking at their contribution to... the Industrial Revolution. People like Isambard Kingdom Brunel, George Stevenson and Thomas Edison. We start this week with the steam engine and the work of James Watt. Following the history, trouble-shooter Sir John Harvey-Jones offers his views on the legacy of the Industrial Revolution for Britain in 1994. Peter Evans presents the first 'Generals of the Revolution'.
