Footage description: Barrie Jones introduces the programme. Keith Hodgkinson and Barrie Jones demonstrate the home kit laser and give some safety advice for its use. Barrie Jones and Keith Hodgkinson go on to look at several smaller items from the home kit. They examine and then demonstrate the set of lenses in some detail particularly their use in the technique of obtaining a parallel but larger beam from the laser. Jones and Hodgkinson go on to demonstrate the home kit photometer. They explain to student how to calibrate the instrument and the importance of doing so. Barrie Jones mounts the home kit camera and photometer as for one of the home experiments students will have to do. While doing so, he explains to students the type of film they must purchase for the experiment and then, how to use the camera. Finally, Jones runs through part of the experiment. Jones goes on to demonstrate how to rewind film in the camera and how to unload the film. Keith Hodgkinson demonstrates to students how to develop the film by using equipment from the home experiment kit. Barrie Jones sums up.
