Description
Two plays, both only slightly reduced in length and presented in original Middle English. The aim is to bring out the plays' unique human and dramatic qualities from the unfamiliar English of the t...exts. From the Brome cycle comes the story of Abraham (Daniel Massey) and Isaac (Gary Carp) which was seen as a prefiguration of the Cruxifixion, which is from the York cycle of mystery plays (John Moreno plays Christ). The action is set in biblical times in order to help bring out the drama, the sets being simple stylisations of the biblical landscape.
