Description
'Sizwe Banzi is dead' is a play about the working of the Pass Laws in South Africa. It was created by Athol Fugard and the actors John Kani and Winston Ntshona. This production was recorded during ...the first British presentation of the play in 1974 at the Royal Court. Over stills of Fugard, Kami and Ntshona, who devised the play, Walder briefly introduces the programme. The version performed here is two thirds the length of the BBC original. The main omission is Style's long opening monologue.
