Footage description: Whatley enters a classroom and turns on an air compressor. He explains its workings including its simple control device. Whatley explains the purpose of the lesson, which is to simulate the control system, giving various pupils roles to play. Animations accompany his explanation, and his description of what he did. In the classroom Whatley sets up the simulation, explaining in detail which part of the compressor the pupils will play and how the experiment will be conducted. The experiment is begun. After a while, Whatley introduces a leak into the system and a new experiment begins. The experiment continues, with a brief pause as a mistake is made. Conclusions about the control system are drawn from the results obtained. Whatley sums up on the lesson. Shots of repeat of the experiment with the pupils discussing problems.
