Description
This television programme is a short drama, an adaptation of Jay Presson Allen's stage play based on Muriel Spark's novel, "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie". Certain themes from the origina...l have been emphasised while others have been omitted. In particular the programme focuses on the teacher/pupil relationship, Miss Brodie's somewhat idiosyncratic educational and political ideas, and the conflict with the system in which she is teaching. The part of Miss Brodie is played by Isia Blair. The action of the play takes place In Marcia Blaine School for Girls, Edinburgh, from the Autumn term of 1934 to the Summer term of 1936.
