Description
This programme shows a new approach to understanding the behaviour of crowds. It focuses on the tensions and conflicts between the crowd and the authorities at the Notting Hill Carnival. It also lo...oks at how crowd violence is portrayed in the media. At the end of the programme Professor Stuart Hall from the Open University talks to the consultant who made it, Dr Steve Reicher from the University of Exeter about the ideas underpinning notions seen in the programme like collective mind, collective conflict and collective understandings.
