This programme looks at the Ghattaora family who have been separated for eight years. Daulet Singh Ghattaora has lived in Britain for 10 years, while his wife and three sons have been refused entry... since 1972. The film investigates the immigration procedures at Delhi and tries to answer the questions: how can sucha case arise? What do the procedures look like from the receiving end? By summer 1980 Daulet Singh's wife and sons were finally allowed into Britain. The film shows them reunited in Chatham and the problems they have since faced.
