In the early 1980s, Folkschools - Danish State comprehensives - were experiencing a poor reputation, brought about by industrial action coupled with a lack of communication between parents and scho...ols. The Director of Education in Aarhus instigated an in-service training course to try to reverse this trend and improve the image of the school in the eyes of the users - parents and children. The course was produced in collaboration with commercial organizations, in particular the airline SAS. The programme outlines the background to the course; its aims; and considers how relevant commercial concepts are in schools.
