This programme looks at reasons why cell growth may go out of control, as in cancer. One clue comes from studying growth hormones. Cancer researchers have discovered that the normal control may be bypassed. In a nother cancer, leukaemia, blood cell growth is out of control. Here scientists and clinicians are combining forces with spectacular success to explain and control the different types of disease.
