Description
This programme looks at how cells respond to molecular signals from outside. Bacterial chemotaxis will be one system featured. Bacteria can navigate up or down chemical gradients analysing the grad...ient by special protein receptors. The other system we look at is a growth hormone. Epidermal Growth Factor stimulates cells in tissues such as the skin to grow and divide. again the detection is by protein receptors.
