This programme concerns a long-term investigation into factors affecting the numbers of red grouse on Scottish heather moors. Contributions are from Dr. Adam Watson of the Institute of Terrestrial ...Ecology, who has studies the grouse since 1956 and describes techniques of capturing, marking, release and observation, and Dr. Robert Moss, also of the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology, who describes methods assessing the nutritive value of the heather eaten by the grouse and its effects on their aggression.
