OU research into technology for supporting dogs that help humans in their homes and to diagnose life threatening conditions - such as diabetes - is being developed by an OU researcher. Dr Clara Ma...ncini, a Research Fellow in the OU's Computing Research Centre, has set up the first university research programme in Animal-Computer Interaction (ACI) at the OU. Dr Mancini and her colleagues are developing a suite of tools to support assistance and medical detection dogs in various tasks. The new devices will include dog-friendly switches and diabetes alert alarms.
