Description
The link between diabetes and psychosocial problems such as depression, were highlighted by Professor Cathy Lloyd in her inaugural lecture on Tuesday 4 July 2017. Cathy Lloyd is a Professor of Heal...th Studies in the School of Health, Wellbeing and Social Care at The Open University. She has an international reputation for research in the psychosocial field of diabetes and for involving minority ethnic groups in research where they are often excluded due to language and literacy difficulties. Her current research, leading the International Prevalence and Treatment of Diabetes and Depression (INTERPRET-DD) Study (supported by the Dialogue on Diabetes and Depression), which spans 20 countries, examines pathways to care for depression and other mental health problems in people with Type 2 diabetes.
