Tutor Q&A session in which we’ll discuss some of the most common questions I’ve been asked as a tutor, and questions from the Live Chat which I will do my best to answer! Common questions a...sked include: • Can I have an extension? (Answer is usually more complex than ‘yes’ for a TMA because of ways to help with the underlying problem. Answer for an EMA is usually ‘no’.) • Can I submit my TMA early? • Can you clarify the TMA question for me? • How do you reference …? (e.g. a table or diagram from the textbook when the ‘true’ source is ‘ONS’ or something from a tutorial) • Is there a preferred format for laying out my TMA? • Do maths workings/diagrams/tables/quotations count towards the word count? • Can you check my draft TMA? • When will I get my results? Common questions not asked, include: • How can substitution help me? (Not asked because students are often unaware that substitution is available or how it works)
