We will be focusing on some common challenges that STEM students may encounter to illustrate how the Student Support Team can help. Our 5 key themes are: 1. STEM students studying for career prog...ression/development – e.g. how to get practical experience needed and the importance of softer skills 2. Importance of maths skills/confidence for most STEM students – what support/advice can we offer to help you succeed? 3. Who to go to/sources of help – SST vs tutors and the importance of seeking support early 4. Study planning/intensity/course choice – we always say our curriculum is more complicated than some so how can we help you plan your study? 5. Studying online/using technology – can this be more challenging for STEM students especially those with disabilities? If so, we show you where help is available.
