Edwards, headmaster of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, an independent grammar school, outlines the characteristics of his school that make it attractive to parents. Edwards stresses the importance of parental interest in education over shots of parents visiting his school. Footage of a formal assembly at Q.E.H, addressed by Edwards. Morris interviews Thelma Davies, whose son has a scholarship to Q.E.H. She explains why Q.E.H can offer more to her son than other schools. Morris interviews David and Joy Pratten, who pay for their son to attend Q.E.H. They explain why Q.E.H is worth the financial sacrifice. The interview includes a variety of short extracts showing classes in progress at the school. Spivey describes the range of subjects and equipment available at his school. Short sequence showing him addressing an informal assembly. Cuthbertson asks Spivey about the social background of his pupils, and the role of their parents. Sequence showing a music lesson at the school. In interview, Ronald and Edna Smith explain why they are happy sending their son to Lawrence Veston. Ron and Joan Stinchcombe are interviewed. They express enthusiasm for Lawrence Weston, but maintain that private schools offer both better discipline and better employment prospects.
