The flow of holes and electrons in a transistor, and their density gradients, are used to explain the two most basic transistor properties: the exponential relationships between the base emitter voltage and emitter current, and the near equality of the collector and emitter currents. The explanation is illustrated with graphics. Part 2 of the programme is identical with the 1972 version. |
