Footage description: | Stevens and Evison act out 2 ways of reacting which produce different results. Stevens looks at the 2 situations as examples of interaction and how they help behavioural analysis. Evison, from the Huthwaite Research Group, introduces the experiment in the rest of the programme. She defines the five behaviour categories viewers should be looking out for. The OU students discuss their tutorial sessions The whole discussion is repeated with Evison superimposing the behaviour categories as they are revealed by the speakers. The second part of the discussion from sequence 3; where viewers are asked to note down the behaviour categories. Again the OU students discuss ways of improving tutorials. Evison introduces a new category for the final discussion extract, in which the OU students show more conciliatory attitudes. Evison now compares the two grids of behavioural categories for the two discussions. She discusses the major differences. Stevens and Evison look at the practical uses such as management training, interviewing, negotiating etc. Credits. |
