Congratulations Professor Bhagwat!

Professor Bhagwat is lead for the International Development work stream in AstrobiologyOU.  He is also embarking on a new role as Head of School for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences’ School of Social Sciences and Global Studies (SSGS).

His research has engaged with a variety of different global challenges – environmental change, biodiversity loss, food insecurity – with a view to finding innovative approaches to tackle these things.  In AstrobiologyOU he is leading the work stream to explore the application of space technologies in international development in ways that are just and equitable, and sensitive to local cultures in the Global South.
