Description
William Gilly was an English cleric and author. He became a supporter of the Waldensian Church (a pre-Protestant movement) after visiting the area now in northern Italy in 1823. He was the author of several works, many regarding the Waldenses, one of his most well known being 'Narrative of an Excursion to the Mountains of Piemont and Researches among the Vaudois or Waldenses' published in 1826.
