Thomas Jones, 7th Viscount Ranelagh, was most famous for his support of the volunteer movement to recruit soldiers in defence of Britain, particularly from the French. He is also remembered for having relationships with well known women of the time, including the Pre-Raphaelite model Annie Miller and popular actress Lillie Langtry, whom he famously introduced to London high society.
