This case-study illustrates the way in which changing economic inducements have resulted in the adoption of a succession of different farming methods and in the introduction of new crops. Paul Ches...hire of the University of Reading looks at the swing to specialisation in cereals made by Mr Percy Pinner on his farm on the Cambridge/Huntingdon border. Mr Pinner shows us round his land and discusses why he gave up mixed farming. Ray Thomas of the Open University provides an introduction and conclusion which places this case in a more general context.
