Hughes looks at the European Parliament, and the Economic and Social Committee. Palliser outlines the links with the various members national governments. Barber sums up on the formal process using the example of limiting the speed of heavy lorries. He brings in the element of pressure groups. Mulholland from the tobacco industry and Cabot from the wine and spirits trade discuss how industrial interests fit into the structure. They look at the contacts they need and where the power really lies. |
