Description
We are entirely surrounded by giant molecules, many of which are polymers. All living matter contains these chain-like molecules and you find them in all sorts of natural products, from grass to w...ood to wax, rubber, many others. What we are going to be doing this programme relates to the first part [of the main text of this course unit]. It relates to man-made polymers, and Professor Haynes and Dr Hill are going to explain first, how we can classify these into two basic types, and then they are going to show how their physical properties can be understood in terms of their structure.
