Description
William Henry Giles Kingston was an English writer of adventure novels for boys. He also produced translations of several of Jules Verne's novels from French into English which were published by Sampson Low. They were published under his name but were in fact translated by his wife Agnes Kinloch Kingston (1824-1913) which was a fact generally known at the time.

Description: W. H. G. Kingston accepts an offer from Sampson Low which is presumably a translation. This letter was written after Kingston suffered financial difficuties during the 1860s and he began translations of Jules Verne books published by Sampson Low (translations which were actually completed by his wife). There is an additional note in another hand which refers to payment and copyright of a 3 volume novel.
