Section 1: This section raises questions about science in the world outside school, and about influences on science education. -- Section 2: This section follows 2 groups as they explore and invest...igate fire and burning. -- Section 3: This section looks at the way tasks can be set up by teachers to support children;s learning, establishing ground rules for developing scientific understanding. -- Section 4: This section looks at children between 5 & 6, who are experienced in the ways of working seen in the last section. We look at what's involved in choosing activities to sustain their progress. -- Section 5: In this section we look at a framework for science learning that enables a teacher to plan and assess children's learning.
