Footage description: The programme opens with the chairman of the board of governors discussing the agenda for a forthcoming meeting. The opening of the meeting of the board of governors is seen - minutes are confirmed and matters arising are discussed. With the aid of an official from the County Treasurers Department the board discuss the estimates for the next financial year. The headmaster presents his report to the governors. Two of the governors report on their visit to the school, which was the subject of P970/01. The headmaster reports on the teaching of English in the school, which is then discussed by the governors. The appointment of a new head of English is considered. The interview panel is selected, and includes the new governor who appeared in the previous programme. There is a very brief discussion of the school fund. In a pub after the meeting Peter Clifford, the new governor, questions other governors on the role and power of school governors.
