Description
'This programme deals mainly with the impact of light's destructive qualities on two materials, dyes and polymers. It shows how industry monitors the problem with the help of the International Wool... Secretariat at Ilkley (dye fading), and ICI Welwyn (polymer degradation). Interwoven with the industrial monitoring of these problems is the photochemistry of the processes and the mechanisms that chemists have devised to solve these photodegredation problems. Finally the case for increasing the rate of degredation is considered in certain circumstances this may be a good idea and an example of photo degradable agricultural film in use in Israel is shown.'
