The Open University has over 200 qualifications on offer and if you’re looking to build on what you achieved at college, this page will take you through some of the options.
Even if you don’t see your HNC or HND listed on this page with a suggested degree, there could be options available. You can apply for credit transfer for any degree for free and find out if there’s enough overlap between what you’ve already studied and the degree you’re interested in to count what you’ve already done towards the credits needed to get your degree. If you’re looking at a degree in a completely different subject area to what you’ve done before then it’s unlikely you’ll be able to use your previous qualifications, however, you may be able to transfer credit to our Open degree.
This page lists the areas where there are established routes between college qualifications and OU degrees. This means that you will likely be eligible for credit transfer if you follow one of these routes.
Emma talks about the flexibility of studying with the OU, changing jobs and the role her OU study plays in her career.
If you’re not sure about the direction you want to take, or you haven’t found a route that’s a good fit yet, it might be worth considering the Open degree. The Open degree is our most popular degree and allows you to bring together different areas of study in a completely flexible way to develop knowledge and skills. Choose from over 200 modules across a wide range of subject areas to create a bespoke qualification to match your interests.
