Postgraduate credit transfer

Have you studied at postgraduate level before? If so, you might be able to use it towards an OU qualification.

Even if you didn’t complete your studies, it might help you cut down the cost and the time to complete your qualification with us. Applying is free, and there’s no commitment to study.

How does it work?

Save time and money – if you’re awarded credit, you’ll have fewer modules to study, so you’ll pay less and finish sooner.

Avoid repetition – you may not have to repeat study you’ve already completed.

Lose nothing – you won’t lose the credit from your previous study.

How to apply for credit transfer

Check your eligibility

You might be eligible if your study is less than 16 years old. Use our previous study checker to find out.

Make an application

It’s free to apply, and won’t commit you to studying with us.

Register on your qualification

When your application has been assessed, you’ll receive an email inviting you to log in to your OU account, view awarded credit and register on your chosen qualification.

Enrol on your module

Choose your first module, complete payment before the deadline, and prepare for study.

Use your previous study

If you studied less than 16 years ago, you might be able to count it towards one of our qualifications.
