Mixed payment methods

Did you know you can combine payment methods? You can mix and match your payment methods, completing your module registration with an option that's right for you.

For example, you could pay part of your tuition fee with a debit card and pay the remainder in instalments through an Open University Student Budget Account (OUSBA).

What funding methods can I mix?

You can pay using a combination of the following:

  • credit or debit card
  • Open University Student Budget Account (OUSBA)
  • employer sponsorship
  • part-time tuition fee loan
  • bank transfer.

How can I pay using a bank transfer?

You can transfer your module fee to us in Pounds Sterling (£), Euros (€), or US Dollars ($).

If you’re transferring from any currency other than Pounds Sterling, it’ll be converted into pounds, which means the amount you need to send will be determined by the exchange rate at the time.

It can take 10–20 working days for the transfer to complete and show on our system, so you must give yourself time to complete registration with us. You won’t be able to complete your module registration online using money from a bank transfer.

Registering for my studies was incredibly straightforward. The lists of modules and their descriptions were perfect, and I never had any problems. I took advantage of the OUSBA programme to spread payments out and paid my fees out of my own pocket throughout.
