Description
In this programme Professor Eric Lunzer discusses the relationship between language and thinking, concentrating particularly on the extent to which language may promote the development of thought. ...He questions the assumptions that it is because of language that thought becomes rational, pointing out that language is not of itself rational. He refers to the theories of Vygotsky, Piaget, Luria and Bruner and illustrates some of his thesis with recorded examples of childrens' speech.
