Description
This programme looks at the life of Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget. After tracing his early childhood and initial work in Paris and Zurich, TV11 concentrates on his development of the study of chil...d intellect. Using extracts from historical archive film and reminiscences from psychologists still working in Geneva, 'Piaget in Perspective' explains Piaget's basic view of the child's mind and shows the impact this had, throughout the world, on child psychology and consequently education. The programme ends by looking at the work of the neo-Piagetian psychologists who are basing their work on Piagetian theory but are coming up with some different answers to the questions Piaget was asking.
