The Philosophy discipline welcomes applications for graduate work in epistemology and philosophy of science, including:

  • History of the philosophy of science
  • Philosophy of biology
  • Philosophy of medicine/public health
  • Feminist philosophy of science

Research and research students are at the heart of the discipline. In joining us, you would join a lively and friendly graduate community. The discipline hosts papers by visiting speakers throughout the year and an annual graduate conference where students give papers on their work in progress.

Entry requirements

MA undergraduate degree (or equivalent). Most successful applicants to the research degree programme have an MA in Philosophy (or equivalent). If you are not a UK citizen, you may need to prove your knowledge of English.
