Accessibility Statement for Understanding financial statements (BGXS006)
Mode of study
All of this course’s study materials are online. Online materials are composed of pages of text with images; interactive activities; audio/video clips (all with transcripts/subtitles); diagrams; and some materials also include links to external resources. As part of your assessment you will be required to upload activities to an online tool called OpenStudio.
Tuition strategy
All study is self-directed, however, there is a Learning Advisor available to help with any questions relating to your studies.
Working with others
As all study is self-directed, you will not be required to work with others. You have the option of using a course forum to communicate with other learners as well as a forum to communicate directly with a Learning Advisor, should you need help with your studies. These forums are not compulsory to your learning.
Mathematical and scientific expressions and notations
Finance courses make use of mathematical formula and graphs, and completion of spreadsheets. These are all presented as scalable and with alternative text versions of formulae.
Diagrams and other visual content
The study materials contain some diagrams, graphs, and photographs. Reading and interpreting these is an important part of the study of this course. We provide descriptions for all essential figures.
Finding information
You could be required to search for, and make use of, third-party material online.
Assessment
This course has a Practice-Based Assignment (PBA) which you must submit online via the course website. To support your PBA, activities are introduced throughout the course to help you relate your learning to your personal development or application within an organisation of your choice. You will be required to submit these activities along with your PBA at the end of studying this course. Once completed and successfully passed you will receive a digital badge and a course completion certificate which you can download as a record of your learning.
Schedule
The course is designed to be studied flexibly so there is no schedule. When enrolling, you will be advised how long you have to complete the course, which will be a minimum of six months. You can work through the course materials at your own pace within that time.
