Sport and Fitness at The Open University combines science, coaching and performance to help you make a difference in athletic and exercise settings. You’ll examine how the body, mind and environment interact in sport, learn about training methods, leadership and motivation, and apply your knowledge to real-world contexts. Through flexible, supported study, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to pursue careers as coaches, trainers, sport managers or in health and fitness services.

Through our sport and fitness courses, you'll study both the physical and psychological needs of sports men and women and exercise clients. You'll use audiovisual case studies and reflect on potential or actual situations in your own work or practice.
