Accessibility Statement for Learning to teach languages in primary schools part 2 (LXT191)

Mode of study

All of this module’s study materials are online. Online materials are composed of pages of text with images; audio/video clips of varying length, but no longer than 7 minutes per asset (all with transcripts/subtitles); diagrams; interactive media; and multiple-choice self-assessed quizzes. Online materials also include links to external resources, online forums and online tutorial rooms. 

Tuition strategy

This module includes online tutorials. Where possible, recordings of online tutorials will be made available to students. Although not compulsory, tutorials will help you consolidate your learning and are highly recommended.

Working with others

You’ll be required to work with other students. This includes looking at, and commenting on, others’ work, and reflecting on others’ comments on your work.

Practical work

All practical application of what you are studying will be carried out in your own primary classroom.

Diagrams and other visual content

The study materials contain some photographs. We provide descriptions for all essential figures.

Finding information

You could be required to search for, and make use of, third-party material online.

Specialist reading material

In this module you will be working with texts in a foreign language, including specific symbols only used in this language. 

Assessment

This module has Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs), which you must submit online via the OU electronic TMA system and interactive computer-marked assignments completed online.

Feedback

You’ll receive feedback from your tutor on your submitted Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs). This will help you to reflect on your TMA performance. You should refer to it to help you prepare for your next assignment.
